dakegraK is out for the evening at a friend's house, so I was perusing the contents of the fridge in search of delicious things to eat. I remembered that she'd made some soup at the weekend, and it was in there somewhere...
aha! One large pot of soup. Ladle out a couple of, erm, ladlefuls and put it on to heat up.
That's when I remembered the pancetta
See, the soup by itself? Delicious - tasty, vegetable with lentils. Big chunks of leek and sweet potato. Fab.
Add in some lightly fried pancetta?
fan. tastic. Absolutely stellar. The crunchy smokey saltiness just *made* the soup.
*eyes fridge*
I may need second helpings.

Dice tomatoes, ground beef, five kinds of beans (kidney, chickpea, canellini, black, and umm.. one other. I forget), corn and lots of delicious chili seasoning.
Served over freshly made hot sticky rice. *drools* Little bowl of heaven!
However, your soup and pancetta sounds as good. Mmmmm YUM. FOOD.
