I had my induction course yesterday, which was useful and interesting. Met the new projects team lead and two people from the systems team, had the obligatory tour of the building (the views from the 11th floor are rather good, must take my camera up there at some point), and we had a video on manual handling.

Stop giggling at the back.

It told us everything we could possibly want to know about moving boxes. Lift with a straight back, watch out for obstacles, push trolleys rather than pull. The poor guy in the video was hilarious (unintentionally, one assumes), doing his best to 'check the work environment to make sure it's safe to lift'.

Today I went on a Dealing With Debt course, which was genuinely interesting, useful and directly applicable to my new job. I now know all about priority debts (TV licence counts as one, who knew?), non-priority debts (credit cards, loans, overdrafts etc) and how to work out a budget correctly.
