Alice the ship's AI has finally gone crazy and tried to start killing people, starting with Shaw, one of the merc crew that Giles has just recruited to the 'good' side.
Because Shaw was tinkering with Alice's circuitry and accidentally short-circuited something which made her regress to the teenage persona. And Alice does *so* like the handsome Lieutenant Commander Giles. And she does *not* approve of him hanging round with a spiky-haired temptress such as Shaw.
BWAAAHAHAHAHA.
