mmm, tea.

K is out tonight, as I may have mentioned.

There was a sieve of cold boiled rice left. The Beans (LB, I suspect) had left rather a lot of sweetcorn on their plates.

Never one to pass up some good leftovers, I set to work.

1. Examine fridge.
2. Finish examining fridge. It is large, white and most definitely fridgey. All good.
3. Open fridge, examine contents.
4. Hmmm. Stroke proto-beard in a musing fashion.
5. Retrieve box of eggs and a leek.
6. oh, I'm bored of this now.

Frying pan on cooker, break egg into it, whizz it around with wooden spoon. Slice leek *very* finely. Add to pan. Whizz some more, going 'whizzzz!' in an amusing falsetto.

ahem.

Discover small jar marked 'Thai Seven Spice'. Add generous quantities to eggy leek.

Add cold boiled rice to ultra-spicy eggy leek.

Note: when frying rice, it is essential that the rice is stone cold. We now return you to your regular scheduled programme

Stir. Add remains of Beans' sweetcorn. Stir some more. Avoid the amusing falsetto.

Apply a generous sploshette of good dark soy sauce.

Stir. Tidy up. Stir. Obtain bowl from cupboard. Stir.

THE RICE, YOU FOOLS. NOT THE BOWL.

seriously, you can't get the audience these days

Apply piping hot rice to bowl.

Discover bowl isn't quite big enough. Consider options.

a. leave some for later/tomorrow.
b. stop giggling at a.
c. carefully pile the rest of the rice to the top of the rice in the bowl.

Go for option #c. Admire pile of rice in bowl.

Eat. Go 'blimey, that's bloody *gorgeous*', several times.

Belch, politely.

Do washing up.

Decide to blog recipe.

Decide recipe v.dull really, so write in amusing* stylee.

Sounds pretty good! I might just do that at some point with my leftover egg. I used five out of the box of six for baking, and I don't like them on their own.

Being me, though, and having a little appetite, I shall probably use rather less rice. :-)

usually I'd go for spring onions rather than leek, but it worked out rather well. :-)
