Date: 2009-04-21 08:47 pm (UTC)Dude has a POP-UP business card? Sorry, but I can't take that seriously.
The one thing I hate about card designs is people who put a dark color on the back. No. No no no no. No. That's where I write important info like where I met you, what I agreed to do for you, or your personal cell phone number or the name of your cat.
I agree

Date: 2009-04-21 09:26 pm (UTC)His business cards are advertising. They wont fix in a rolodex so will sit around on the window-sill. They are so odd that they wont go straight in the bin, so when people visit my office they will see is card - I might even show them how stupid it is. And they will remember it. As he says it says what he does, so they might even remember the card when they want someone who does that ...
It probably does work for him.

Nope, it's not going to fit in the Rolodex. Fine by me - it's an interesting piece of design that I am going to look at. I am going to show it to other people, and point out how neat it is. Although I will also deliver it with a message saying "but don't ever deal with this guy. The card is genius - he is an arse".
It's a mini-brochure. It's a compromise between a business card and a full A4 glossy leaflet. And I like that. Possibly a very good freelancer tool.

And yes, his business card is crap, why? Because it ain't a business card it's a brochure.
