dammit. Settled down to watch episode 5 of Torchwood on telly, having set it up to do the series record thing and...

no friday episode.

Arse.

hopefully it's repeated soon. Yes, I can watch it on iplayer, but it's not the same as curling up on the sofa with a really big mug of hot tea and watching it.

Our series record does that too & will randomly miss out episodes. My geek husband (as he actually used to write the code for set top boxes) tells me it's because the episode will have been transmitted with the wrong data on & that's it's not the universe picking on me.

Or....connect an old PC into your cable / telly system and use it as a media centre to view iPlayer, ITV player, 4OD, Youtube etc etc on the big screen?
