Fixing laptops. Not only does K's dad's laptop have something nasty on it, it turns out our friend Rach's laptop has something nasty too.

*eyes piles of laptops*

right. Rach's had the Vista Home Security 2011 nasty. Stripped that off (took some doing, I can tell you), now looking at an AV to install. Tried AVG, but that didn't work for some reason, so am giving Avast! a try.

Fear not, dear reader. I have cider. It's helping.

It's rather nice. Sheppy's single variety Dabinett Apple.

Ooo - I just had a nasty case of Vista Defender 2011 virus. I tried a couple of free anti-virus programmes but couldn't shift it. I eventually bought Spyhunter, which did the job and which seems to find dozens of spyware viruses that Avista and Stopzilla don't pick up.
How did you get rid of Vista Home Security 2011 ?

sheer bloodymindedness. Stopped the process, cleared the registry, then downloaded malwaarebytes anti-malware, which scanned and picked it up.

Main trouble was that I couldn't get on the internet as the vista home security nasty had disabled every bloody browser going.

Going OK. We're having beers and watching the NCAA Final Four Basketball Tournament. Also, I am working on my XML assignment for this week which is totally easy compared to the SMIL one.

I just got home from the store, where I bought some cider, specifically a seasonal type of Woodchuck cider (which is pretty much the only readily available hard cider here). Their spring version sounded too good not to try, even if I still have 2 bottles of the Winter version left in the fridge.
