Confused (and delighted) LB at bedtime by telling her a mashup of The Three Little Pigs and The Billy Goats Gruff.

Bulldozers were involved. The wolf did not come out of it well. She thought it was hilarious.

"But... that's not the right story!"

"Wait and see, LB..."

The best bit? She started coming up with ideas of her own halfway through the story.

I feel sorry for the wolf...

well, the wolf, having blown down walls built across bridges, finally tracks down the errant piggies to a freshly built house made of bricks.

He knocks on the door.

'little pig, little pig, let me in!'

To which, to his great surprise, there is no answer.

He tries the door. It swings open.

[FX: BEST HAMMER HOUSE CREAKY DOOR SOUND]

The wolf, being a curious sort of a fellow, enters.

The house is empty. Utterly lacking in pigs.

The door swings closed.

[FX: BEST HAMMER HOUSE CREAKY DOOR SOUND]

[FX: OMINOUS DOOR LOCKING SOUND]

The wolf rattles the handle, then looks out of the window. At a large, friendly yellow bulldozer. Upon which sit three perky porcines.

They start the engine....


As I said, it doesn't end well for the wolf. :-)

oh, I'd forgotten a bit - the wolf checked around the empty house and was enormously relieved to find that the fireplace didn't contain a large metal pot full of boiling water over a roaring fire.
