random things:
I won a stool from a Twitter competition. It's really rather lovely and custom made by some lovely people in Devon. Advantage to winning a stool? You're guaranteed a seat on the packed train home.

I made biscotti. They were nice.

I also won yet another book in a twitter competition. Twitter keeps me amused in reading matter. This competition involved saying 'yes' in the most original language. I went with 'whey aye man' (Geordie) on the basis that everyone else would go Klingon/elvish etc.

Allotment is coming along well now the incessant bloody rain has stopped.

Of course if you use the stool on the train then you're guaranteed space around you as everyone slowly edges away giving you strange looks. :)

Stool sounds handy :-) Well, unless you need to go to the toilet, come back and find someone else sitting in it. "Oi, that's my seat! Yes, it really is my seat!"

it amuses me greatly that the sentence I put up about the stool would still totally work with the other type. I would most definitely get a seat on the train. Possibly even most of a carriage.

True story! It's why it took me a second to get why you were excited about winning a stool. Of course, I wasn't surprised that someone could be running a contest for such a thing on Twitter. The internet is a bizarre place.
