remember when I said that I really liked Seth Lakeman's stuff?

Sure you do. It was earlier today.

Just had an email through from Greenbelt, the festival we're going to on August Bank Holiday.

Guess who's playing mainstage, saturday?

Yup.

He's very good live, Mr Lakeman. His latest album is the weakest of the three (they've gone progressively downhill/watered down), Kitty Jay is brilliant though.

His second album (he's had four albums, stupid brain), Kitty Jay. It's the most consistent and accessible without being weedy and was Mercury nominated. The Punch Bowl is his first and the most trad folky, with patchy production and lots of other folkies joining in. Freedom Fields is the third and great in places, but a bit samey. The recent one, Poor Man's Heaven, tries a bit too hard to go rock "crossover" without being all that convincing.
