BigPig has been back to the vet for more antibiotics and painkillers. We've got some to give her over the next few days and see what happens.

After that, it's x-rays and ultrasounds, though with the x-ray running at £100 and the ultrasound at £120, plus anaesthetic etc, we'd have to give it serious thought if it came to that.

Oh dear, sorry to hear this. From my experience as a guinea-pig owner, I have to say that it might be best to prepare yourself, and your Beans, for the worst. I'm afraid they tend to give up the fight pretty quickly when they are ill. :-(

indeed. She did seem a bit perkier yesterday evening though, and ventured out of her house, and was spotted again this morning nomming on some carrot and celery we'd left out for them, so she's picked up from Sunday.

We'll see. K is fairly pessimistic, but I have this relentless optimism thing going. :-)

we love her dearly, obviously. But putting a piggy through surgery just doesn't seem very fair to her.
