space marine - macro
Jan. 26th, 2009 09:45 pmOk, ok, it's not really a 'macro', per se. 50mm lens atop tripod, as close as I could get it and still focus.
I spotted this little guy atop some shelving and really liked the lighting.
This was the first of the Games Workshop Space Marines miniatures I ever painted, probably 20 years ago. He's lasted pretty well!

Date: 2009-01-27 08:49 am (UTC)I have a friend who still paints em as his primary hobby. Thats not sad for a 35 yr old is it??? He claims he doesn't play the games anymore, but I don't believe him :-) I have this vision of him standing around a table in the gamesworkshop store arguing with 3 lads half his size, but dressed exactly the same :-)

Date: 2009-01-26 09:59 pm (UTC)I have some chaos marines I never got around to painting. Probably just as well, considering the colours my Dawn Of War army tends to be...

Date: 2009-01-27 09:49 am (UTC)I was looking at macro lenses last night. The 105mm f2.8 micro Nikko VR is so bloody tempting in every way except the price.

Date: 2009-01-27 10:40 am (UTC)I noticed that after I'd taken the photos. He's now back to his usual perky self.
