ooh. Eddie Izzard is playing the Manchester MEN Arena on 7th/8th November. Also Sheffield, but we're away in Scotland that week.

I saw Mr Izzard in the big arena-type place in Birmingham, and it was weird...not exactly un-enjoyable, but too overwhelming to really enjoy the comedy.. I think I'd prefer to see him in a theatre or somewhere more intimate.
Well, really I'd prefer to invite him to dinner..but that's just greedy.

yeah, I've seen him four times (maybe five) now and the smaller gigs are by far the best. Saw The Definite Article tour twice, once at the start of the run, and again near the end and was surprised at how much had changed - same sort of narrative rambling through the same topics, but he'd been honing it during the run.

Then saw him in Sheffield (I think) on the Circle tour. Still funny, but not *as* funny. Funny material, but the venue felt wrong.

The MEN Arena is HUGE, so am distinctly dithering.
