K bought a copy of Emma Kennedy's The Tent, the Bucket and Me yesterday.

She nearly missed her station on the train on the way home last night as she was giggling so much. She then proceeded to giggle at various bits of it for much of the evening.

I take it therefore that it comes Highly Recommended.

I showed K the book after following @EmmaK67 on Twitter (she being the author of said book), and hearing it on Book of the Week on Radio 4. She's jolly funny.

Oh, that sounds fun - my memory of the one time my family went camping, in the late 70s or early 80s, is of my inability/refusal to go to sleep and our driving home in the middle of the night because my parents couldn't stand it.

Years later, I learned that this was at the Glastonbury Festival, so I have some excuse really.

K was planning who else she could buy a copy for - her mum, sister, brother. I heard a bit on book of the week and it did sound very funny.
