My second cousins, Rachel and Craig were having a joint 18th birthday party this weekend, hence the trip up to Newcastle (and to collect my camera, hem hem). It was also my uncle's 80th birthday party too.

Anyhoo, these are they:


I took a couple of hundred photos at the party, but this is my favourite. Rockin' that Hawaiian theme, cuz. :-)

That second one is rather art-studenty. I've been seeing a lot of portraits with those sort of running themes lately. Not to my personal taste, but a few thousand art/photog students can't be wrong I guess[1] ;-)




[1] the simplist look of a blown highlight tends to make me cringe, and too much work with the curves tool makes me want to get out my old-man's cluestick and beat these kiddies back into the darkroom and make them CRY for their art.

And yes, I twiddled the curves on it. Can't do much about blown highlights this far after the event, so I did what I could.
