I just downloaded 800MB+ of patch, which took a week.

Now you want *another* 8MB? What happened? Did you forget something?

This 8MB one has taken, thus far, 35 minutes to download.

I just want to play the damn game.

Which, reading the patch notes posted above, seems to be precisely the case.
