managed 1,000m at the pool tonight. 80 lengths. The constant swim-turn-swim was starting to tire after a while.

I managed to see off two other swimmers - one who came in after about 100m and lasted until about 400m, and another who was in for about 15 minutes but probably swam as far as I did, just doing front crawl instead of breaststroke.

Then, on the way out I saw David Dimbleby at the front desk, asking where the restaurant was! Famous people! woo!

I am apalling at recognising famous people as famous people, I just think they must be someone I vaguely know but momentarily can't place and as soon as I do realise who they are I become all star-struck and tongue tied thus making a complete ass of myself. Well, it rather depends on the famous person, but if it's someone I like, I'm a complete fool. I really do tell people they're shorter than I thought they were - aargh! Usually they're frightfully nice about it. I'm such an idiot sometimes.

1000 m is my usual distance, but i can´t stand the small pools... 80 lenghts. kudos to you.

I really miss the international pool - I could quite happily plough up and down there for an hour. I think the most I ever did there was 2 miles one day, just got into the zone and kept going.

The shallow end in our pool is *really* shallow too, kept knocking knees on the ground when I turned.

Still, feel better for it this morning!
