Night At The Museum 2

EB wanted to see this - I'd assumed he'd seen the first with his grandma at some point, but no. To be fair, my expectations weren't high, but we both enjoyed it enormously, though possibly for entirely different reasons.

Amy Adams. Yum. Feisty redheads in leggings and boots. What's not to like?

The story bounced along - Ben Stiller is someone I can take or leave, but he was pretty good in this, as was the rest of the cast, with the possible exception of Ricky Gervais. I mean, I like him as a comic, but he just doesn't seem to *work* in movies. Just turns up and is Ricky. He's not in much though.

So, fun for small boys and big boys. Glad I've seen it, and am looking forward to seeing the first one when it's on telly at the weekend.

I give it seven feisty redheads out of ten.

Would a person whose interest had been piqued by the promise of a Roman legionary on the advertising poster be disappointed, do you think?

Ha! Almost certainly, though the legionary in question is played by the inimitable Steve Coogan, and is called Octavius, if that helps.

He does play quite a key role...

Well, see, that does sound quite cool actually. Still, all things considered, I think I will probably wait for it to reach t'telly. Or Lovefilm if I just can't wait!

you wouldn't be losing anything by seeing it on the small screen.

It was fun, silly and a nice way to pass the afternoon. Had EB not wanted to see it, we'd have picked it up on DVD eventually.

Watch the one at the weekend on TV - Steve Coogan is in that too. :-)

DH & I only get the the cinema a couple of times a year, so we make sure it's a big action one to make the most of it. We went to see the new terminator one this year, not actually been yet. I saw Slumdog Millionaire with a friend & HSM3 with Kate & Holly most recently.

We are both big star trek fans, is it worth going to cinema for or OK to wait to rent DVD from lovefilm?

Haha! Actually, have no idea of going rate as my children have only ever been babysat by grandparents.

Did you see Ghost Town?

No, but then my only other experience of Ricky in a film is from Stardust, where he felt shoehorned in.

He's very funny at doing comedy. Acting, not so much. Though his "I'm really great" schtick wears thin after a while.

I re-watched the first one last weekend & Ricky Gervais was the weakest link.
