365 day 008, originally uploaded by dakegra.

day 8 of my project 365 - finally getting around to framing some of my photos to go up on the walls. Trouble is that I didn't really consider sizes when I got the prints done, so we had a load of frames and a load of prints, and only a few actually fit!

I was really pleased with how well the prints came out.

those frames need a white background though (or possibly black) - that's just the cardboard frame back you can see. :-)

wow! I thought they looked kinda neat that way too :) Figured you'd made that color selection intentionally :)

easy solution...mat them! Matting is better anyway because it keeps the prints from sticking to the glass and keeps the humidity at bay and allows the print to flex with temperature changes. Better all around than straight framing anyhow!

That one will look great matted!

cutting a cardboard mat board to sizes that will fit your frame and your print and then attaching the print to the back of the mat board using archival linen tape or archival paper tape then insert it in your frame, easy peasy!

Oh and there are plenty of ready-made mats available at most craft stores and they come in a variety of colors too! A great mat can really make a photograph pop and bring attention to the image.
