I've been watching The Transatlantic Sessions on iPlayer.

Cor, it's a bit good.
Folk musicians come together in what have been called 'the greatest backporch shows ever', as Shetland fiddle virtuoso Aly Bain and dobro ace Jerry Douglas host a Highland gathering of the cream of Nashville, Irish and Scottish talent. Highlights include songs by James Taylor, Julie Fowlis and Dan 'Man of Constant Sorrow' Tyminski, and instrumentals by Jerry Douglas, Aly Bain and Allan MacDonald.

I've decided that I need to learn to play the fiddle. Be afraid.

Perhaps you should ask Monty to teach you. He generally seems to be on the fiddle...

No, not now, wait till the beans are older and won't leave the nest, then learn the fiddle, that'll clear the house quick fast. Especially if you do it early in the morning on a weekend. I, of course, have trained myself to sleep through the sound of H's music practice. I'm sure the neighbours wish themselves that fortunate too. Particularly as she has several instruments on which to torture them. She's actually very good, it's just not everyone appreciates chromatic scales and voice excercises before breakfast.
