Dune! I read Dune my freshman year of high school and it has remained in my top 5 books list ever since.

The series goes waaay off the rails after Children of Dune (and it's pretty wacky at that point). By the time you get to Chapter House Dune I was going WTF?

Yeah, I made it halfway through Chapter House, and have never gotten around to finishing it.

I have heard that the books that Brian Herbert are writing are good, but I haven't read them.
