soooo, Libya, eh? Seem to have missed the news for a few days. What's all that about then?

Other than Gaddafi being madder than a box of frogs?


Anyway, I thought we were skint? That nice Mister Cameron keeps telling us we've got no money, but yet we can afford to do a bit of bombing? Did we get them cheap or something?

Madder than a box of frogs about sums it up. Other minor details: UN resolution, Arab League support (supposedly, haven't seen much of that yet), Gaddafi making threats against his people.

Left wing: If we don't oust Gaddafi, he will kill millions of his people. We can't have that on our consciences.

Right wing: If we don't oust Gaddafi, we will end up with millions of brown refugees coming our way. We can't have that on our bank balances.

Well - it all comes down to how you feel about Rowanda and Kosova....

See Rowanda nothing happened - even though there were people there - and Kosova the general feeling is that is saved lots and lots of lives. So on we got into a civil war situation - which it was it a bit one sided - what are you to do?

My gut feeling is this is the least bad choice - but that's a long way from a good choice. - and has a real possibility of mr box of frogs still in charge at the end or boots on the ground if the rebels can not get there act together enough to over throw him.

Beat case scenario - this intervention flips enough senior mikitay figures on mr frogs side to remove him - as they will be working out that any proper military actions now will simply get hammered into scrap.

You know this feels really different from Iraq. - like it's the least worse choice and people know it - rather then a good idea.....

It's about oil. That's why we're intervening here and now when we didn't two years ago and we aren't in Ivory Coast or Bahrain.
