Date: 2011-04-01 10:26 pm (UTC)Knocking Kenneth Branagh for playing Wallander is the shooting fish in a barrel thing. As it happens Branagh played it quite differently from the two Swedish actors who did the same role. I'd call that distinctive acting and making the role your own. There's no pleasing some folk.

Date: 2011-04-02 09:47 pm (UTC)1) Branagh is hard for a lot of people, me included, to warm to as an actor.
2) He can be a bit bland, in both looks and performance.
3) Why the fuck did he decide to do Thor?
4) He hasn't done anywhere near as well as expected, based on early promise. Though obviously he's by no means the only one for whom that has happened.
I preferred the Swedish version of Wallander on BBC4 by miles to his.

(have heard of the Thor movie, but no idea about the actual comics. Same with Iron Man, but thoroughly enjoyed that one)
