Spotted this on Albion Street in Leeds.

I'm not entirely sure what a trial hole is - perhaps LCC will replace it with a proper hole if the trial is successful! Or maybe have a series of holes around the centre of Leeds...

I'm guessing it's to decide whether it's a guilty hole or an innocent one.

It could pave the way to new legislation.
