Evening LJ peeps.

Today I stumbled across this: a personalised morse code bracelet

Clever idea. Very cunning. Blooming expensive though, and entirely doable cheaper.

Not entirely sure how you'd get the beads to stay spaced apart though.

You could use small, spherical spacer beads between the long and short cylinders used to represent the dots and dashes. Make the dots and dashes in a light/bright colour (eg silver) and the spacer beads in a darker background colour (eg black) or a shade like your skin tone. Get a good contrast in sizes, so the dot/dash beads are in blocks, and easy to distinguish from the background beads.

Crimps. :) Most commonly used to prevent beads from sliding off the cord, can also be used decoratively to keep a bead section in place, or to replace beads all together. Fascinating idea though..

Isn't it? Decorative & cunning. I've been after a new one for a while, the one I wear now (which LB chose for me) is getting fragile.

why would you want to? it'll give you something to fiddle with (if you're that kind of person) and if you know what it's meant to say then you'd be able to respace anyway if you want to show people.

Fair point :-)

That one looks to me like it uses glue to hold the beads in place.
