So. That was Angels in Manhattan.
Whilst I thought it was a great way to end the Pond era, I spent quite a bit of the episode going 'errr, but...'
F'rinstance.
Statue of Liberty is a Weeping Angel. I can see the writing session now where someone pitched the idea. It sounds great. Until you think about it. Seriously, no-one noticed it moving around? And there were several bits on the rooftop where no-one was looking at it, but it just stood there, all gapey-mouthed.
What was all that about never being able to go back to New York in the Tardis or timey-wimey things happen? Could the Doctor not go back to, say, Washington DC and get the train to see them? Or they to see him?
Or would timey-wimey thing happen?
And why all the sadness? Amy and Rory got to live to a ripe old age, together. Which is exactly what they wanted.
I did love the angel cherubs. Cute and terrifying. And Mike McShane!
