I need some more opera in my life, I think. I'm sure I used to have a copy of Tosca knocking around, but I can't find it, and have a horrible feeling I sold it.

The trouble with classical music and opera, I've found, is that there are *so* many recordings of stuff, and being a relative n00b, I have no idea what constitutes a 'good' one.

So, I'd like a copy of Tosca, and probably The Marriage of Figaro (which I saw many years ago and loved to bits).

Suggestions please?

This is a damn fine Tosca. Sure, it's mono, but it's Callas. It's hard to go wrong with the old EMI red label stuff.
