the only problem with losing weight is that my trousers are getting looser, and I keep having to hoik them up.

Short term: get a belt.

Long term: learn to sew. Once you can take your trousers in when you need to, you will feel very much better - trust me on this! :-)

The other logical conclusion is that your pants are growing. This is probably dangerous; I suggest you get out now!

Think of all the fashionable belt buckles you could sport with a new belt!

Hoick! I love that word. I was having that same problem last year at this time. I appear to have adjusted my figure a wee bit and have less of a problem, alas.

Short term fix, a belt, medium term fix; slit the waistband casing near side seams, insert widest elastic waistband will accommodate, machine sew elastic beyond slit and close to side seams, catch stitch slits closed. This method will take a couple of inches out of the waist without too much faffing. If you've lost so much weight that slightly elasticating the back waist would not be a good fix then buy new trousers. Unless they are your most favouritest trousers in the whole world, it's not worth trying to completely alter them, there are so many points of fit in trousers a good fit wouldn't be obtainable.

That is SO not a problem with me. This is, incidentally, an issue with me as well at the present.

The looser they get, the happier I get. I may have to go buy another pair or two before the weekend. That makes me even happier.

But - you go, go, go!!!

In American we have these things called "belts." Advanced American technology never ceases to amaze me. :P
